Many tokens are available on the RESCUE Exchange. Here we will focus on the Quanta (Qu) and EQx tokens.

Quanta (Qu) Tokens

Quanta (Qu) are used for transactions between members — e.g. swapping out home grown vegetables, when buying heirloom seeds, paying for a practical course, an elective course, etc.

N.B. transactions between members are limited to R500 per month.

EQx Tokens

EQx tokens are the primary token used by Equity Pact. They are a measure of a members non-share investment in an EQx Development Co-operative. This includes the payment of EQx tokens to a member workers account by the EQx Development Co-operative.

EQx tokens are used to purchase shares in a property or a business that has been (re)developed by an EQx Development Co-operative. Furthermore, members need to accumulate at least 250,000 EQx before they can purchase shares in a property or a business.

Members can purchase an unlimited number of 100 EQx token packages online at any time for R100 each. EQx tokens earn interest at 1% per month on the month-end balance of the previous month. Interest is paid in EQx.

Workers can use EQx to pay the 24 x R500 instalments of their EQx Development Co-operative Membership Loan. This will decrease their EQx balance. The R10,000 EQx Development Co-operative Share does not earn any interest.
